Government Recycling Targets
Under the Packaging Regulations, producers must pay towards the cost of recycling waste packaging by purchasing packaging waste recovery notes (PRNs). PRNs are purchased for reprocessors or exporters of waste packaging. who are set targets each year that must be met. These targets are subject to final confirmation by the government and are as follows for 2017 -2020:
