Packaging Recycling Targets 2025-2030 – UK very likely to adapt EU Targets
The EU Announce Packaging Recycling Targets 2025 – 2030

The EU have announced legally binding Packaging Recycling Targets through to 2025 -2030, through a series Exended Producer Responsibility Regimes. It seems likely that the UK will adpot the revised targets certainly over the medium term.
The Packaging Recycling Targets are as follows:
| By 2025 | By 2030 | |
| All packaging | 65% | 70% |
| Plastic | 50% | 55% |
| Wood | 25% | 30% |
| Ferrous metals | 70% | 80% |
| Aluminium | 50% | 60% |
| Glass | 70% | 75% |
| Paper and cardboard | 75% | 85% |
Its worth noting that the UK’s current 2018 wood recycling target is already at 38%, well above the EU Wood target for 2030!! We will be requesting that this target is reset in the UK for the 2019 at a more realistic level.
